| コメント | 「魚」を主要なテーマとして創作を続けてきた門脇の、現在の視力はほとんど無い。かつて見えていた頃の記憶をベースとしながらも、しだいに簡略化した魚のフォルムや模様を、強い筆致で重ねて描いている。1つの作品の中に、まぐろ、たい、めばる等20種類以上の魚が表現されているという。赤い色を最も好み、繰り返し繰り返し描くことで生じる深みのあるマチエールが、無数の生命を抱き育んできた海を想起させる。（水田美世） |
| comment | Fish are the central theme in Kadowaki’s artwork. Presently, he has almost completely lost his eyesight. He layers on the paint with solid brushstrokes. Tapping into the visual memories of the time when he could still see, he has gradually simplified the form of the fish. One painting has over 20 varieties, including tuna, sea bream, and rockfish. His favorite color is red. Layering its vibrance over and over conveys the deep matter of the ocean and the countless forms of life it supports. (Miyo Mizuta) |
