| コメント | 1999年より絵画制作を行うようになった表敷が、2003年から4年間の活動休止時までに制作した作品のひとつ。この時期の表敷は無数の点描で動物・植物・静物など様々なものをモチーフに描いていたという。この作品では、タイトルにあるように、猫とブランコと蛇が描かれるが、それらを取り囲むようにいくつものブロックに分かれた多数の点描も、モチーフと等しいレベルで存在感を得ている。活動を再開した2008年からは文字への興味を示す作風に変化していくが、本作品でも「ズ、ト、イ」や「４、１、３、７」などが描かれ、その片鱗がうかがえる。（水田美世） |
| comment | Omoshiki began painting in 1999. He took a 4-year hiatus from art starting in 2003. It is said that before his hiatus, his artwork focused on animals, plants, and still life, executed in detailed pointillism. As the title suggests, this piece depicts a cat, a swing, and a snake. In 2008, when he resumed his artistic practice, his work changed focus to letters and numbers. The phonetic characters “ズ, zu,ト, to, イ, i" and the numbers “４、１、３、７” in this piece are an early indication of his interest in writing. (Miyo Mizuta) |
